Park and Ride/Walk

The City of Tshwane will be providing a free park and ride and park and walk service for fans attending South Africa’s warm-up match against Denmark on Saturday 5 June at 14:00.  The match takes place at the official training ground in Tshwane, namely Super Stadium, recently renamed Lucas “Materpieces” Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

The park and ride / walk venues will operate from 10:00 until 18:00 and fans need only present their match ticket to use the free service.  .

Atteridgeville is located west of the Pretoria CBD and is easily accessed via Church Street, a straight dual direction road that runs almost the width of the city (incidentally is the longest street in the world).

Park and rides

The first site is at Laudium Stadium, on the corner of Nineteenth and Brown streets in the western part of Laudium in the Centurion area. The site is best accessed via the R55 (Pretoria West)/Quagga Road and into Pierre van Ryneveld Road.

Motorists coming from the east or the N1 from the south can park their vehicles at the P7 entrance of the Tshwane Events Centre (site of the annual Pretoria Show) in the CBD.  The parking can be accessed from Church Street, just west of DF Malan Drive.

Those wishing to travel closer to the stadium themselves can use the GaMothakga park and ride, which is also accessible from Church Street, but much further west and relatively close to the stadium.  This is the largest of the park and ride sites.

Park and walk

A park and walk will be operated from Mbolekwa Cricket Grounds in Atteridgeville.  The parking will also be free of charge and around 560 vehicles can be accommodated.  Vehicles can enter via Sehloho Street and Komane Street.  The pedestrian entrance/exit is in Komane Street.
