"Image-making has always fascinated me. From age 6 I was making black and white contacts from a brownie camera in a large cupboard under the stairwell at home in Johannesburg.
After school, i played with the idea of becoming and architect, but relented under family pressure, completed a predictable B.Com and was then absorbed into the family steel merchandising business, where i remained for a decade or so. When the business was fortuitously sold, i made the leap into advertising photography. I have for all these years been deeply involved in fine art photography.
The freedom i enjoy in my personal work frequently allows me a certain looseness, which i use in the interpretation of advertising briefs.
My enthusiasm for photography expands continually. I have a great sense of excitement being in the world of digital photography and all that it encompasses."
